Angry 318ti NOT A FORUm

Why is there a message board/forum if you are required to search previous posts for your answer.

Maybe people do not want to search for messages by keywords and have it take them 45 min before they find an answer that is close to what they are asking?

Why does it matter if someone asks the same ? It is a forum afterall and people should be able to ask what they want even if it has been asked before.

Yesterday a "moderator" , who will remain nameless (but if you do a search like he recommended) youll find it....unless he deletes all posts like mine (as he said he would - because I am asking a ? that waws already asked) I felt he was rude and talking down to me in a post because I wasnt at his level on 318ti parts....I feel just because I asked a ? I was not currently upto "speed" on, I was ridiculed and told to grow up because I got defensive after I got a cocky answer...sorry about this post but I feel as if you should be able to ask a ? when searching for help from 318ti.org from ti gurus who know more than you.

A person should be able to receive help in a kind manner instead of directed harshly back to you because you know less than them...this will be my last post in this forum because why would I want to post in a place that is ruled with a Dictatorship

well the reasoning is just that some topics have been discussed very thoroughly before, and for the older members that have been here a while, we get tired of reading/typing/responding with the same information that we have already for 3 or more times.

we aren't saying you cant post questions, but just look for the answer before you do, because a lot of things have already been answered.

we are all here to help anyone out, no one is trying to be accosting anyone because of their level of 318ti knowledge.

A dictatorship? Hardly.

We are all busy and all of our time is valuable.

How is this not a dictatorship? Here no one cannot say what they want without the ruler, in this case a moderator telling you otherwise.

Just an FYI

If you go on any other forum and ask a question that has been answered numerous times you will get the same response.

Use the search button which they all will say..

Just for an example in the past 6 months or so i saw 1 topic posted atleast 8-9 times by different members. If the 1st person atleast searched for it he/she would've got the original thread on the subject. When i see a thread like that i'll search for the original and post it in the current thread then close it. There is no sense of starting new threads on subjects which have been discussed a gazillion times.

You should really chill with the whole dictatorship thing....Go to any forum on the web and trust me, someone will tell you to do a search whether theyre a moderator or not. If you cant find somethin with a search, by all means, post a new topic and if someone questions it, then so be it, dont get offensive, its only a forum. Theres really no need to create such posts like this to call out moderators...if you have a problem with them, you should really send them an email or a PM rather than try and publicly humiliate or flame them. If you dont like the treatment here, find another forum for help or find all the answers from the dealership, manuals, etc.

If its something that he said, then your conversation should stay private, and not to be made a public matter.

WHAT? I told you I was going to create a FAQ section so that we wouldn't have to deal with repetitive posts.

I appoligize up and down for offending you, I don't know what else you want from me.

So let's put all this behind us.
Don't people have jobs? I'm on my lunch hour.

Here is a link to the FAQ post I created THIS MORNING in response to our conversation. Please take a look, it should answer all your questions.

http://www.318ti.org/forum/showpost....51&postcount=1

I'm done with this. Please don't drag a personal problem onto the forum. This is a 318ti forum, let's talk about 318ti's, eh?

drama on the 'ti forums...

I just want to say that I am involved in a lot of forums, and this is one the better ones I post to/read from as far as qaulity, content, responsiveness and general absence of drama.

+1 to Steve S and all the others involved with maintaining it.
