Default Sold ...

EDIT: CAR IS SOLD!

I have posted this on bimmerforums too, so I'll be dealing with two forums so please bear with me. I'm trying to gauge interest on a part out to see if it's worth tearing the car to pieces.

I bought the car sight unseen knowing it has a blown gasket. The head came off and the block showed slight pitting. I don't have the conscience to sell a car running with a pitted block to a buyer, so I rather part it out.

It is a 1996 BMW 318ti with M-Technik package. The car has Bilstein suspension up front and I believe the rear is too since it's part of the M package. The side trim is M-Technik and the rear splitter is too. The car is automatic and has interior that is mostly intact (except for the infamous clips on the driver's door panel coming off. The headlights are aftermarket, but I believe they're the convertible lights since they don't fit correctly (see pics on the sidemarker side).

Let me know what parts you're interested in and if it's worth parting out I'll start shipping pieces out!

If it is Avusblau I would be very interested in both the driver and passenger door mirrors. If it is an Active model I am also interested in the complete OBC system. Including the OBC, wiring, and turn signal stalk.

Okay so being a new member doesn't allow me to PM users until I have 5 posts, so this is the only way of reply that I have. Can also email to headway@windstream.net if you need.

I'd be happy to ship them, but I'd prefer to let them go after more of the car is parted out. The car will be immobile once the springs are removed. I can keep you in mind for when I want to pull them if you want?

The trim you're interested in go down the side of the car across the front fenders, doors, and rear quarter right? I know the right side trim looks like it's a little loose and I'm uncertain why, but I can take extra pics if you want to see what I'm talking about. Otherwise, how does $50 plus shipping sound? Shipping is probably $20 or so, but could be less.

By system, are you meaning the bottle as well? Bottle, pump, lines, and jets (heated jets I think?)? If you want the whole setup, how about $45 for the jets, $25 for the bottle and pump, and I'll throw the hose in free? Shipping quote I'll get once I know how much of it you're looking for. Shouldn't cost too much to ship. Do you want pictures?

By rear package tray, I assume you're talking about the rear hatchback window panel that lifts when the rear hatch is opened? How about $60? Cruise cable $15 unless you want the whole unit. I'll send you pics if you want to see it's condition. A/C hose, I can do $20? Shipping shouldn't change much for the little parts, the primary determination will be the package tray cost to ship. Shouldn't cost more than $25 or so, but zip code will determine that. Email me at headway@windstream.net if you want pics and a shipping quote, etc.

Heater control valve $25 - not sure of it's condition as I haven't tested the car's heater. Charcoal canister $17. Rear diffuser $50. Shipping quote I can get once I pull the diffuser and package it up as I don't know the weight of it at the moment. If you want pictures, email me at headway@windstream.net.

You just want the motor and not the regulator? $10 plus shipping?

Not sure of the color, I can check it out today, but I don't think it's avusblau according to Google pics I looked up. It's more of a silvery blue color. Still want the mirrors? The left mirror has clearcoat peeling at the top. I'll look and see if it has the OBC etc.

Door cards are black and have the fabric centers that are a grey color. Email me at headway@windstream.net if you want pictures of them. The driver one has the clip holders ( a couple of them) that have come detached from the door card so will need to be reglued onto the door card. Passenger card is still intact from what I can tell. You're second in line for the rear package shelf. I priced it at $60, I'll let you know if the previous buyer backs out. Rear view mirror $15 and $30 for the MAF. Shipping for all the stuff should be around $25/30 guestimating. Haven't got a quote cause I'll pull the part and weigh it. I'll get an accurate quote before requesting payment, just give me the go-ahead.

Nope, that's not me Someone's already got dibs on the side trim. You can see the second quote from the top. If buyer backs out, I'll give you a heads up.

Someone already has requested the rear diffuser, if it falls through, I'll give you a heads up Thanks everyone for the inquiries! If you want any pictures, or additional information you can also email me at headway@windstream.net.

If any of you want the parts I replied to you about, please just give me confirmation to pull the parts and I'll get them weighed out and send you an accurate shipping quote so you know what the total will be. Thanks again!
