Default E39 Style M66 wheels on a Compact?

Hi Fellas,

Does anyone know if E39 M66 wheels will fit? Obviously with the use of hubcentric rings. They are 17x8, but it's the ET20 that is cause for concern. I imagine you would have to use a 215/45 tire? Not sure you'd get away with a 235/40 which would be my first choice if it could work with the ET20.

If anyone happens to have pics as well that would be great. Attached for reference is a photo of the wheels in question.

Oops, just found this for reference:

Good thread that pretty much asnwers all. Only thing is I am still wondering if with the 215/45 the wheels will rub? I think the OP of that thread is using the 235/40 setup which could be the difference which requires the fender roll... ?

Still if anyone has seen a photo of these wheels on a compact that would be great to see!
