Default Driveshaft compression?

Greetings! I’m currently trying to gather all the parts necessary to M52 swap my ti but, I’ve heard from some that my driveshaft should compress enough to allow the M52 to be used with my stock transmission (Getrag 250) but, some say that I’ll have to use the 328i/325i driveshaft and for it to work

I was able to compress my stock driveshaft enough to get it to fit with the M52 and getrag. That being said, it was extremely close to not fitting and I was a little sketched out by it. It's been going fine for the past two years though.
