I had my stepdad move to the area and he needed a car to get around since he moved and had no transpo. So I told him to take care of my car and pay the insurance and he could drive it. It all started when the car overheated and had to get towed. The towing company cracked a small portion of my front bumper. so I ask him to claim it and later found out he signed a damage waiver so my loss!! later..... driving down the road near a construction he hits a spike on the road. cracks it even more this time. now its almost in 2 pieces so what does he do? he takes the front bumper off and drives the car like that for a whole month til my wife sees the car and tell me all about it. So I call and he explains how it happened. so I tell him to put it back on. he puts it back together and the car was drivable. 3 months or so later he is parking at his job where they have this HUGE parking blocks. so what does he do. He challenges it to a duel! needless to say the parking block was victorious. Now the bumper is in 2 pieces. LITERALLY!!! so when I get back in less than 50 days I got my work cut out for me. he is going to be one broke, grinding, sanding, wrenching, and most importantly Paying SOB. I just needed to vent since I paid over 4,000 for that paint job in August 2005. Now that I vented, I have my flame suit on. here's a few pics On a happier note this gives me a whole new opportunity to redo the entire car. I'm going to have it painted Cosmo black. This time I'm going all OEM M upgrades. Here's a few of the parts that I have gathered. M3 front from DDM M3 Side skirts from DDM M3 mirrors from private seller on BFC M- Rear from member on Ti.org ( thanks for the help Jeff318) Apexcone Head lights w/ Angel Eyes, HID 35w 6000k ballast, Black grill inserts, gauge rings, fogs w/ 35W HID 6000. Style 5 wheels: locally purchased I was going to do a swap but in view of the fuel prices I changed my mind. I rather keep it like this. for now! I learned a valuable lesson. Family will cost you more at the end than a total stranger. Last time I do something like this to help someone out. Just throw a number out there over 100 and its yours. All my door jams are black. blue and purple were sprayed after the black base. I wanna go with a OEM color cause in case of an accident I wont have to repaint the whole car again. | | | 06-28-2008, 04:52 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | yep i would also go with black! __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 06-28-2008, 04:56 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | Im not gonna lie, your step dad did you a big favor with that front bumper, the new one looks much better. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 06-28-2008, 07:18 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | Quote: Originally Posted by SDKmann Im not gonna lie, your step dad did you a big favor with that front bumper, the new one looks much better. | If you really think about ti yes he did. I loved the paint job so I am upset about that but since I wanted to do the OEM Look I guess I have to sacrifice somewhere. Does anyone know where I van get a M rear spoiler fot the Ti? | | | 06-28-2008, 07:23 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 06-28-2008, 07:33 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | does anybody have any pics of how the M tech spoiler mounts? I'm not sure If I will have to drill or if it mounts with clamps through the sides the the E30 Mtech 2 spoiler. | | | 06-28-2008, 07:36 AM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Quad Cities, Iowa Posts: 2,110 | No clamps, you'll have to drill through the hatch. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 06-28-2008, 08:02 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | well never mind then. I did that once already and I hate it how there are like 3 layers of metal where it is impossible to get a blot on. I guess I'm better without. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
