Default 97 ti transmission question

I'm new to the forum, I just bought a 97ti that I will pick up later this week. It has the M on the side panel and leather/cloth interior so I think its the Sport model? Anyway my questionis this. It has the auto (which was the only major drawback to the car) It has 136K on the car and I'm wondering if the auto's are prone to failure and if so how many miles do they usually make it? Also can the auto handle a supercharger?

I'm pretty sure an auto can take a supercharge, a member here named Performanceisland has an automatic ti with a supercharger

Should be no problem and the auto will like the boost down low that the supercharger supplies

Upsize the transmission cooler and use top end fluid. it will keep it cool and heat is the enemy of the auto...
