I have a 95 318 ti. i have done some aftermarket work to it. (intake, exhaust, HIDs, blackouts, short shift, injectors) for about a week now it has been makin a sound when i push the clutch in. it is an airy hollow sound when i push the clutch in. it is the throttle bearing going out. I was just wondering if anyone had any info about replacing the throttle bearing. what needs to be done, is it possible to do it without a lift? i can get to a lift if it is needed. please help me with any info yall can.. thank u. | | | 03-22-2010, 04:51 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Raleigh/Charlotte, NC Posts: 1,233 | throw out bearing. Either that or your clutch pedal bushings. If it is your throw out bearing you have to remove the transmission and might as well put a new clutch in at the same time. __________________ -Jeff | | | 03-22-2010, 05:00 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | If the noise only happens as the pedal is moving its the pedal bushing, (Very common E36 problem) if its a continuous noise when the pedal is in but stops when the pedal is out its the throwout bearing... And likely time for a clutch as mentioned above.
