Default Ignoring forums / threads

Just out of curiousity, is there any way to ignore specific forums, or threads? Basically the same mechanism as ignoring a user, but on a larger scale.

Duh... silly me for not googling first. Here are a couple of options for ignoring threads:
  1. Ignore Thread: Allow Users to Ignore Threads of Their Choosing
  2. Hide ignored users' threads

... and an option for ignoring forums:
Selective Forum Filter

Would any of those work here on this forum?

Sure all those mods are possible although I try to stay away from mods that require template changes.
I still need to edit 6 templates from the last upgrade.

But come on, do you like everything that is on TV or just skip over the parts you don't care to view?

I posted this a while ago, but it was buried in a thread. There is an easy way to not view certain subforums, as I list here, and Steven doesn't have to do anything for you to implement it:

THANKS! I remembered you posting that, but couldn't remember which thread it was in. Now I just need to get accustomed to using the bookmark instead of the "New Posts" link.

I forgot about this feature! Not something that get's used much, but I'll certainly remember it next time the forum encounters a "not so friendly" member.

For those interested, under User CP there's a setting which allows you to edit your "ignore list" in which you can simply enter the username of your choice and it'll be like they don't even exist, unless someone quotes one of their posts in which case you'll only see that particular quote:
