There the ones that have the "nipple" in the center of the top of the bolt. does anyone know what size they are, i need to go pickup a new one, thanks!! | | | 12-01-2008, 06:00 PM | #2 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | I don't think there's one common size. Most people use their own bolts when fastening their license plates. As for the little "nipple" in the middle of the head, sounds like you're talking about a safety torx, not an allen head. Just go to any autoparts store, they'll know what you're talkin about and get you what you need. __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 12-02-2008, 01:05 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | find a smaller store that will be comfortable with you taking a couple wrench's to the parking lot to get just the one you need, or you might as well buy a whole set | | | 12-02-2008, 04:31 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | If it's safety-allen or safety-torx, buy a set of the inserts (for power drills). It's going to be way cheaper. I often just dremel out the center of the bolts though, but for a license plate it's probably not a good idea. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 12-03-2008, 03:19 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2008 Location: New York Posts: 188 | well fella's i went to the autostore. The had is not a torx, its a allen, so i ended up buying a "import license plate mounting kit" which had all new bolts, and more importantly the wrench i needed! thanks for the advice. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
