Default Is my belt too tight?

Hi

Recently one of the idler pulleys fell apart and chewed up the belt on my DASC. Unfortunatelly they dont sell the belt that comes with the DASC in the UK as it comes off some ford truck. I used a belt off a Ford Ka 1.6 with code 6PK2196 so it should be 2196mm in length. It was hard to put on as the tensioner had to be pushed over quite far to get it on. I couldnt get the socket on the tensioner because the belt was in the way, I had to force the belt accross just to get the socket on. Now the belt has lost one of its ribs (it frayed off). The next size belt I can go to is 6PK2225 so would be 2225mm long. Is that going to be too long? An extra 29mm might be too much...

Cheers
Dylan
