Dunlop SP Sport FM901 225/50/16 .... I had Dunlops SP Sport 8000's but they seemed to wear super quick.

Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asymetrical 205/60/15. These have been really great all season tires and have impressive traction wet or dry but are marginal to bad in the snow. I would definitely buy them again.

Michelin Sports on 15 inch stock rims

what do all those numbers mean after the name?

IE: 205/60/15

i know the 15 means 15 inch rim right?

i know its written on the side of the tire, but im too lazy to go check my tires at 2am...but it got me wondering...i dont even know what they all mean!

The Tire Rack has great info on tires :
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=33

All of the blue lettering are links. This one is specifically what the main numbers mean :

205 is the tire width, in MM. 15 is the diameter of the wheel its made to go on, in inches. And 60 is the height of the tire itself from the wheel to the edge expressed as a percentage of the width.

I was using Kumho ecsta supra 712 for the first two years. They handled well, although I found the road noise higher than others performance tyres.

I now use Toyo Proxes (forgot the model #) since last summer. Haven't really used them enough to know what I think of them (plus I think I am in need of a good balancing - or something else is wrong ).

In the winter, I use Nokian HAKKAPELIITTA Q. Very excellent handling in the snow and ice (only once did I really get stuck) and they run well at highway speeds too (although still find they feel like jello compare to the summers .

Cheers,
Paul.

Talking Tires I am using.

I also have the Goodyear Eagle F1's, 205 55ZR 16's. Great tires even when cruising at 80 mph or above.

Bridgestone Potenza RE750's. Much like their S0-3's but more durable. Fantastic in the wet too. I had a discount card from a friend at Bridgestone in Akron.

Kumho's aren't all that bad. I had a set of Ecsta Supra 712's before the Dunlops. I had long commutes and they wore really well, imo.
