Apparently it's different than the one that b.u.ti-ful posted a pic of in post#7. If the jacking pad sticks out from the side skirt, the jack never actually goes underneath the car. | | | 12-25-2009, 10:10 PM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | When I didn't have access to wheel ramps, I'd use the regular side holes to jack up one side using the car's jack, then a floor jack under the front cross member just below and behind the steering rack. This doesn't work for you or you only have access to the one jack? When you're done, you lower it until you can get the car jack back in and holding up the front end, remove your floor jack, and lower with car jack. | | | 12-25-2009, 10:14 PM | #18 | Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Bowling Green, OH Posts: 75 | Yea but think, my jack stand base is larger than the area of the lift point. Thus my wheels on my jack are about couple inches or so from the edge of the car, but the jack's base when positioned under the jack point sticks out further than a couple inches from the edge of the car (the skirt). | | | 12-26-2009, 04:54 PM | #19 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | You can kinda see in this pic, this is where I like to place the jackstands. There's two flat rails that start at the firewall on each side of the transmission: | | | 12-28-2009, 03:33 AM | #20 | Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Bowling Green, OH Posts: 75 | I got it down. I jack up the front under the place you would put a two post lift arm and set the frame rails on jack stands as shown above. Then I place the jack under the rear diff and lift the ass up and put jack stands in the back like I always do. The car was up in the air in 10 minutes. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
