What gauge wires come stock on the ti's? Would going to a larger size give better response and any power gains? I have a 96' active w/M44 engine. __________________ '96 Active, Boston Green Future mods:Front lipspoiler, cold air intake by Otto Racing, Hartge Rear Wing spoiler, Smoke Grey Birdseye maple wood trim kit. | | | 06-02-2005, 04:16 PM | #2 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | Quote: Originally Posted by Dusty What gauge wires come stock on the ti's? I know that is around then 10mm so anything smaller (ie. 7mm) would provide more voltage. It would also increase sprak temps which then increase combustion temps so you may need to use a colder plug. If you are talking about all wire in general there are vary gauges of wire running through the whole car. -Chad | | | 06-02-2005, 04:53 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: madison, WI Posts: 402 | Quote: Originally Posted by Dusty What gauge wires come stock on the ti's? Also, the guage of the wire is the total diameter, not the diamater of the core (the part that conducts). You could have 12 guage core on one set of wires and 10 guage core on another set of wires and still end up with 8 guage wires, if they had diffferent ammounts of insulation. In short, don't bother changing your wires if they are working fine. If you are going to change them go with the magnacores, they have been around for awhile, have a good rep. and I believe they carry a lifetime warranty. | | | 06-02-2005, 07:46 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: San Antonio, Texas Posts: 62 | Thanks for the info...I am due for new plugs and wires and will order the Magnacores. __________________ '96 Active, Boston Green Future mods:Front lipspoiler, cold air intake by Otto Racing, Hartge Rear Wing spoiler, Smoke Grey Birdseye maple wood trim kit. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
