Last night i was going through a box looking for a receipt and came across something. This came with my car when i bought it used 5yrs ago and was wondering if any other people on here got one in there ti. I'm talking about the Bmw New Owner Audio Program for the 318ti. It's basically an owners manual and more on a cassete tape. I listened to it once when i got the car and listened to some of it on the ride home from work. Whose got one __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 02-03-2006, 12:38 AM | #2 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | I have mine. I even listened to it once, back in 1998 when I took delivery. It's still in the glove box, and probably doesn't work any longer from the heat... Since I deleted the radio, I don't foresee me trying to play it, unless I get really desperate for material and drag it in the house... I also have a VHS tape covering BMW 'all season traction control' or something like that... | | | 02-03-2006, 01:36 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Virginia Posts: 247 | The previous owner gave me mine, along with the plastic valet key... I haven't listened to it, but I plan to someday. __________________ Silver 98 318ti Standard trans, Sport Package: 16" Stock Wheels, Foglamps, Sunroof, Heated Leather Seats, Bilstein performance shocks, OEM Sach's clutch kit, Dunlop SP Sport A2 225/50/16 tires, Alpine CDA 7894, Dual Rockford Fosgate 12" subs, Rockford Fosgate Amp, Leather Armrest, Replaced M44 engine with only 40k on it! http://www.geocities.com/evalha/bmwsmaller.JPG | | | 02-03-2006, 01:46 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | I've got mine, I've listened to probably 10 minutes of it before I found something more interesting. I still think it's pretty cool, the intro is the best. | | | 02-03-2006, 07:36 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | i said no...but now that i think about it, i vaguely remember seeing it a few years ago but never listened to it all __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 03-06-2006, 05:40 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: San Diego, CA Posts: 55 | I don't have it, in fact I didn't get a single thing when I bought my ti, back in september '05. It doesn't even have the tools that go in the trunk. No records, history, receipts, nothing... I'm waiting to do a carfax one day so I can find out at least something of his past. apparently it was neglected a bit. but I plan to bring it to tip-top shape. so far; new tires, brakes, CMP, car cover. coming soon all oils change. | | | 03-06-2006, 07:33 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Toledo, OH Posts: 60 | Shortly after I got my ti I happened upon one of those tapes in mint condition in a box of old tapes at a thrift store. I could not believe my eyes or luck. I believe I paid a quarter for it. | | | 03-07-2006, 05:44 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Jacksonville, Florida Posts: 322 | I got one when I got my car, but haven't listened to it yet. | | | 03-08-2006, 03:17 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Pennsylvania Posts: 218 | Ya, never listened to it though... not sure why even keep it since I haven't owned a cassette player in about 3 years, lol. The car has a tape deck in it (stock head-unit) but I use it to hold my XM-Radio remote... fits really nice . | | | 03-08-2006, 04:58 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Dublin Posts: 66 | Unfortunately not..I don't even have an owners manual | | | 03-09-2006, 09:29 PM | #11 | Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Mullica Hill NJ Posts: 32 | Quote: Originally Posted by Blue318ti I don't have it, in fact I didn't get a single thing when I bought my ti, back in september '05. Posts: 3,156 | The tow hook has little to do with "towing" the vehicle. Useful at the track however. These cars should be flat-bedded, not rolling towed. Also, you should not use the tow hook to be "toed via clothesline by buddy in ford pick-em-up-truck" either. These things can and do rip the threads out on occasion... Yeah, I used to run a wrecker too; Dad's shop. | | | 03-31-2006, 03:53 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Montclair, VA Posts: 338 | i own nothing that can play a cassette lol | | | 03-31-2006, 05:14 PM | #14 | Member Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Northern Ireland Posts: 67 | Any chance that anyone who has one of these could get it converted to mp3 and hosted on the net. Be interested to hear what's on it. __________________ | | | 04-18-2006, 05:18 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2005 Location: Milwaukee Posts: 236 | I have one which I will ship free of charge to anyone who wants to convert it. It does have a few minutes of good jazz at the end, btw. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
