It was there before I removed the bumper, but it seems more noticeable after reinstalling the bumper. I figure that the bumper shock is extended more on that side, for what ever reason. The funny thing is that my 318ti has the same thing. Neither of my cars have been in accidents, so it would seem they came from the factory that way? Hard to believe. I tired using a rubber mallet to beat the socj back, but it's pretty stiff. I didn't move. Anyone have any ideas? Why must you buy new bumper panels? Can't you drill into the ones you have? How can this be done cost effectively? I got the kit for $240 a while back. The pump was $48. It took me a while to get around to installing it. I did try drilling the holes. I had a special drill bit and all, but the instructions as to measurements were a bit vague, so I ended up measuring from the wrong point of reference (it's still not clear in the instructions). The new panel has the cutouts there and for a total of $160 for nose panel and paint, it's not an unreasonable cost. Factor in the fact that you could probabaly sell you old panel for a few bucks, it's even better. Tha's how I would have done it in retrospect. __________________ '95 330ti CS w/sr delete, S50USB30, cams, 24# inj, Conforti SW, Euro HFM, Samco Silicone Intake Boot, BBTB, Euro Oil Cooler, JTD CAI Duct, RE DMS exhaust, RE Tranny mounts, CF Valve Cover, LTW flywheel/Kevlar sprung hub clutch, RE SSK, 3.46 Finned LSD (M6) , M3 tranny, Brembos, RE Wheel Studs, SS brake/clutch lines, CF interior, Rear Headrest retrofit, Tilt Steering retrofit, 13.5 lb DynaBatt in rear, LED interior/footwell lights, ZKW HID, Headlight Aim Control, Rear fog light w/cluster indicator, CF 3 Aux gauge pod, BMW Traffic Pro/Alpine MP3-CD Changer, Staggered LTW wheels, '95 M3 steering rack, VIS CF Hood, M3 LTW Strut Bar, TCK SA coilovers, Red LTW Motorsport Seatbelts, OEM Fire Extinguisher, Z8 Starter button, Auto dim rear view mirror w/ Homelink/Compass, PDC, Rear Sun Shade, Euro Gauge Cluster w/oil temp/shift light , Headlight Washers, "Motorsport" Door Handles, CF Grills, French ZKW Fogs, Euro dash bins, Power Lumbar Support is next, Coming e39 M5 interior light, Bimmer Magazine 8/2007 | | | 02-15-2006, 03:14 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | So the kit doesn't include the nose panel? Couldn't I get a nose panel from a different E36 in the junk yard and get it painted? For that matter, couldn't I get the whole thing from the junk yard? It looks like an old 5 series. It doesn't clean the fogs. There are two nozzles on each side pointing to each light (hi/lo beams). Like Cali-ti said, in europe you could probably find the parts of a junked car, but not likely here in the staes. If I remember correctly, you get stuff from germany once in a while. If you have contacts, it might be possible, but don't forget about the wiring. There is a special harness that once installed, is not easily removed. This is like all the other mods I have done. There are harnesses that are critical and to remove them would be very time consuming, if not impossible without knowing what wires are the ones you need. By the time you ship the stuff from Europe, it ain't gonna be cheap anymore. The nose panel is a relatively big and fragile piece. It's just easier to get it here, IMHO. __________________ '95 330ti CS w/sr delete, S50USB30, cams, 24# inj, Conforti SW, Euro HFM, Samco Silicone Intake Boot, BBTB, Euro Oil Cooler, JTD CAI Duct, RE DMS exhaust, RE Tranny mounts, CF Valve Cover, LTW flywheel/Kevlar sprung hub clutch, RE SSK, 3.46 Finned LSD (M6) , M3 tranny, Brembos, RE Wheel Studs, SS brake/clutch lines, CF interior, Rear Headrest retrofit, Tilt Steering retrofit, 13.5 lb DynaBatt in rear, LED interior/footwell lights, ZKW HID, Headlight Aim Control, Rear fog light w/cluster indicator, CF 3 Aux gauge pod, BMW Traffic Pro/Alpine MP3-CD Changer, Staggered LTW wheels, '95 M3 steering rack, VIS CF Hood, M3 LTW Strut Bar, TCK SA coilovers, Red LTW Motorsport Seatbelts, OEM Fire Extinguisher, Z8 Starter button, Auto dim rear view mirror w/ Homelink/Compass, PDC, Rear Sun Shade, Euro Gauge Cluster w/oil temp/shift light , Headlight Washers, "Motorsport" Door Handles, CF Grills, French ZKW Fogs, Euro dash bins, Power Lumbar Support is next, Coming e39 M5 interior light, Bimmer Magazine 8/2007 | | | 02-15-2006, 10:01 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | hmmm, maybe i should go to the scrappy and sell a few kits on here. heh __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators M3 17" Wheels De-Baffled Air Box AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings Chrome Interior bits IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs Kenwood Power Series Audio Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers Sports Seats | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
