We went out for New Years dinner with some people my wife works with. We were the youngest ones there (at 49 and 50). I felt as uncomfortable with them as when I pull up to a meet with a bunch of 18 year olds. The only place age doesn't matter is at the track. I guess that is why I like it so much. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-01-2006, 06:10 PM | #99 | Member Join Date: Mar 2004 Location: Piney River, Va, USA Posts: 52 | The same is happening to my MR2 club. Guys our age are now too concerned with pensions and retirement The young ones are now being able to afford the cars and are building them up to another level. Only problem is that "level" is so far to the left (drag racing) than what us right wing (track and fast road) drivers like. The "kids" seem to think that you need a gazillion hp to have fun in a car. I want so bad to give these kids a ride in a 1960 Mini Cooper to show them that big HP is not the be-all-end-all. But big hp sure does look good in a magazine. | | | 01-01-2006, 06:57 PM | #100 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bill Strong The young ones are now being able to afford the cars and are building them up to another level.
