They are behind the rear wheels, in the rear of the car, exposed to everything. And like was stated above, lag is a huge issue, you have several more feet of tubing to pressurize versus a local mounted turbo. If you can't fit it under the hood...it doesn't belong there. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 05-03-2007, 01:11 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: NJ Posts: 1,625 | car is 350K?? thats way too overpriced! + croc seats (WTF?)LOL that much cash - get a kick a$$ top of the line Ferrari! | | | 06-25-2007, 07:34 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | Good thing I thought to search before starting a thread on remote turbos. I can sorta understand the lag issue. . .but for me $3500 for a DASC is waay out of my range. . . The car guru at work is also anti remote turbos - though so far his major complaint has been the exposure and how low are cars are to the ground. I'm thinking they can be mounted so its not that obvious and less chancy that someone will follow me home to steal them. What other issues are involved with them being "exposed" other than getting scraped when I go over really big speed bumps or weirdly shaped driveways. If those are the only issues, I'll gladly exchange lag time for the extra (comparatively cheaper) boost. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
