Question Mystery noise from rear of car?

Im hearing this strange almost rubbing noise from the rear of the car when moving slow (maybe i cant hear when fast because engine?), I dont hear it when idle im guessing its the LS diff, not sure.

I uploaded the sound file here, you may have to turn up audio to really hear it , 10sec+ in sound file u can really hear it.

http://kiwi6.com/file/p1d96xps09 (Click the listen play button below ad)

Let me know, i was going to change the fluids soon in the diff also.

Sounds like brakes to me. Could be driveshaft bearing or wheel bearing too.

I don't think it's breaks brakes, cause it's when I'm rolling.

OK.

However, brake pads are always in contact with the rotors. If something is dragging a little bit, or the rotors are slightly warped-they make noise.

o-o no the brakes where a good 15k miles old...

i changed pads a rotors all around... rears yesterday and the noise went away.. changed fronts today and well i found oout that my 98 Ti production day 06/98 has solid rotors on the front with the calipers for the vented rotors.. the brake pads where literally in mid air just clamped against the rotor by the rattle clips..

Somebody messed up! That could have been nasty.

So did you put on the solid calipers,,, Or the vented rotors?

i installed the vented rotors since thats what i had ordered before i discovered that dangerous mess up .. also installed bilstein rear shocks but my torque wrench snapped when i was tryin to lossen the 18mm bolt in the to install my rokkor coilover up front so it kinda ruined my plans.. now my Ti looks like the engine is in the trunk since is lower in the back than in the front

Shouldn't use a torque wrench to loosen nuts/bolts. Strips inside the torque head easily.
