Most of them come with a ribbed plastic boot that covers the unsightly part of the steering column. Momo, Sparco and NRG are well known hub manufacturers. The 318ti uses a different adapter than other e36's, so make sure you get the correct one. IIRC, we use the same one as the Z3's. That being said, you're compromising safety by removing the airbag. You'll trigger an airbag light on the cluster and the steering wheel itself looks kinda ricer/boy racer-ish. | | | 11-22-2012, 12:34 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2012 Location: gloucester Posts: 15 | ah thanks jess sounds like it could get expensive for look i might not like! its hard to judge something when u see it alone! and i guess its just me who thinks it look amazing lol il have a better think about it! wats ur opinion? | | | 11-22-2012, 02:23 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: SW Florida Posts: 4,275 | I'd pass. I agree with Jesse. Maybe in a Honda...not a BMW. __________________ Sean 1995 Active | | | 12-06-2012, 03:31 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: West Bend, Wisconsin Posts: 1,055 | We have the same splines as any other e36=) Not sure where that confusion came from. Here is the one you need: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-16...series-z3.aspx If you get the right wheel it doesn't look bad. I would only get a Nardi, Momo, Personal, Sparco, or Grip Royal steering wheel. Those offer good looks and nice sizes for better driving feel. __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | 01-03-2013, 09:22 PM | #7 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2013 Location: San Diego, CA Posts: 2 | I'm not sure of the laws elsewhere, but in California it is illegal to sell a vehicle with the airbags removed unless registered as a non-op or has a salvage title. I ran into this problem with my Jeep. If you plan to go this route, be sure to keep the old steering wheel and be ready to swap it back in if you decide to sell it. BUT I really, really don't recommend it. Airbags are now mandated equipment for a reason. If this is your daily driver, there are other (more expensive) options for a nicer looking/feeling steering wheel. The previous owner of my 318ti put on a Euro M-Tech wheel from Germany; very nice, but pretty expensive at around $500. Good luck! | | | 01-03-2013, 09:29 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: West Bend, Wisconsin Posts: 1,055 | __________________ 95 318ti & 96 318ti Quote: Originally Posted by eurohb Im Jelly.. enough said. | Follow me on instagram: earlmeyeriii | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
