Don't feel bad. I remember back in bootcamp, they made us jump off of 10ft platform into a pool. A few of the guys were absolutely terrified and I couldn't understand why. They made the guys who had never swam before jump in one at a time so they weren't rescuing them all at once. Sure enough, they sank straight to the bottom. After a little coaching in the shallow end, they were all swimming by the end of the exercise, and everyone passed. I will say it's not an ethnicity thing or stereotype. I think it has more to do with where you grew up.

I dont feel bad. Always lived in a area where it wasnt exactly a pleasure or neccessity to learn to swim, so i never did. Just joined the gym, so ill learn there.
