Door handel/ NOP

Driver side door handle will not open door,was hard to open kinda sticky,now it is fee wheeling pull up on it and door doesn't open. Took door panel off to look in side and see a red wire broke off. Question is it looks like when you open from the outside it uses a electro magnet switch to work the mechanism, from the inside it uses a mechanical rod. Looks like it will have to come out of car for repair. Has any one done this before or have wire break ?? Found this link for removal.. http://bimmerboard.com/members/clex2...ndle%20DIY.doc

Got it fixed,lever that pulls up on latch broke off. Had to replace whole door handle assembly. Got a replacement from Merrit at Prussianmotors.com. Very helpful,fair price,fast delivery. To change follow instruction in link in above post very helpful and to the point. Thanks for the DIY post.
