I am stuck btw two brands, UUC Evo 3 and the Rogue Engineering. I have a swap so of course I was looking at the M3 applications however Joe from the M shop here in LA told me I should get one from a M coupe instead since it has a shorter throw even more so. (not much I'm assuming) Anyway, I know majority of us on the org, like 98% have the M42/4, but I wanted to see what you guys' input on these two good companies. Opinions, good, bad, "eh feeling", whatever it is please share. I don't really know or understand what the difference is btw the M3 and M coupe's SSK, guessing its the length of the selector rod? I don't know. If you know the answer please share. I greatly appreciate it. - Marv __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! I ended up with a M Coupe shifter, and needed to bend the ti's selector rod substantially to get it to work. However I still have an issue where it can rub against the driveline, so I will order a 325 or M3 selector rod soon to correct that... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I have a UUC lever. Have had it for years. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 01-19-2010, 05:33 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: Charlottesville, VA Posts: 102 | In my 1995 M3 I am using the MRoadster Shift Linkage. Since I use to work for a BMW dealer I got it for about nothing. It made the odd gears slightly shorter but made a big difference on 2nd and 4th. | | | 01-19-2010, 06:58 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | james, well i have everything from the M3 so hopefully when i buy the M coupe lever it won't have the rubbing issue. just hoping. but not sure if i should spend the $$$ on a UUC or RE kit if the OEM M coupe lever is much cheaper and still good for the buck. decisions, decisions. __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! I would try to find a MRoadster or Coupe you can sit in and run through the gears to see if you feel it is worth it. If you do decide to go this way keep in mind you are really only going to see a difference on even gears. | | | 01-19-2010, 03:45 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Monterey, CA Posts: 770 | Autosolutions is the best SSK on the market for BMWs. I have had several debates with people who own UUC and B&M; they both converted after driving my car. Bavauto sells the kits if you don't want to buy directly from the manufacture. | | | 01-19-2010, 08:40 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | Quote: Originally Posted by dahamler Autosolutions is the best SSK on the market for BMWs. Said he used it in his M coupe. did you get the basic or complete kit? __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit!
