HELP!!! Okay...it just happened today. On my way home from school, everything was fine. My RPMs at idle were at about 700-800. After a while, i stopped at a stoplight and my RPMs at idle went crazy. It kept going up and down between 200 and 1000. I have a feeling it may be the Idle Control Valve, but I don't really know. What do you guys think about it? One more thing, do you think that an external force may have done it? (like how a radar jammer messes up an radar.) Because i noticed that it happened right after a damn civic cut me off and i started following him. Please help! Thanks guys -Randy __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. I don't have a clue if those could be any factor to it. I have not noticed it since. | | | 04-05-2005, 11:51 PM | #3 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | Try cleaning the ICv Quote: Originally Posted by lkwd318ti Okay...it just happened today. Is it visible from the top (stock form), or is it on the throttle body under the intake manifold? Thanks again guys -Randy __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!.... I fixed my problem though. I brought it to the dealership and they said that it was just the transmission's shifting software (mine's an auto). They just did a little reprogramming and then it was gone. I've been driving it for the past week and it seems like there's no problem . I'll post more if something happens. -Randy __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!.... Garages will tell you this will damage engine but thats nonsense. mines was doing the same and garage were left scratchin there heads. I replaced maf, plugs, cleaned icv, new air filter and boom, my wee Ti is back to her best and pullin like a train!! I got the maf from ebay brand new with 12 mnth warranty for £39.99!!!!!! others are charging in excess of £100. the correct part number for the m44b19 engine is 0280217110. | | | 02-10-2010, 10:42 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: State Collage, PA Posts: 58 | Check the hose that connects to the Air hose...
