Could also be an exhaust hanger? __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 06-11-2006, 07:11 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Southern California Posts: 456 | it is the rear brakes. buy new brake shims for the rear, or replace the brakes and sensors.. Brakes (unless urgent) are last on my list. I let the light stay on for 3000 miles or so. it allows me time to save money and research the problem and correctly fix it possibly with an upgrade | | | 06-13-2006, 05:37 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Southern California Posts: 456 | put in new pads today...no more noise. | | | 06-13-2006, 10:59 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: asheville, nc, usa Posts: 82 | what is the name of the pads you used? did you have to turn your rotors? | | | 06-14-2006, 01:11 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: WA STATE Posts: 129 | When you do your breaks its a good idea to just get new rotors. They are not that expensive and are perfect (not warped or worn).... Bavarian auto parts has them for cheap. | | | 06-14-2006, 07:45 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Southern California Posts: 456 | Quote: Originally Posted by Couverman98682 When you do your breaks its a good idea to just to get new rotors. (look at these huge pads!) | | | 06-14-2006, 12:50 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: asheville, nc, usa Posts: 82 | is it advisable to replace the wear sensors also when you change your rotors and pads if they are not worn into? | | | 06-14-2006, 01:13 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Asheville NC Posts: 669 | you don't need to replace the sensors unless they are broken. A couple times I broke mine pulling them out to install in the new pads. If you need help on the install I may be able to help | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
