Correct. It's a f)cking mess ya got there. Buy a new ignition and start over. Sure, it will be a pain in the a$$...but, it will be better then the mess you have now.

Compete ognition with keys from another car? Or just buy replacement parts?

What parts exactly am I looking at?

Easy enough to change out the tumbler. Had to do it on three different TI's. Just don't screw up the housing the tumbler sits in. That's a bit more involved to replace.

So I really just need to get a new tumbler that matches my key from bmw? I've seen the videos about changing them, seems fairly simple with some patience.
