Todays fix and mod thanks to Ed at BimmerBum:

Nice comfortable weighted shifter. I figured since the car came with an M suspension package, I could sport the badge on the shifter.

New heavy duty struts for the hatch. No more holding it open with my head. I can get rid of the stick too...

  • Inspected cooling system for replacement needs
  • Found a splitting vacumn hose from the intake boot to the ICV. I did a temp fix with a section from a bike innertube and a hose clamp until I can order a replacement.
  • Did an Oil/filter change
  • Installed new front/rear Roundels
  • Found a spare wheel spinner for my style 68s
  • Purchased a M-Tech trunk spoiler from a forum member (Thanks!)
  • Helped another Bimmer Owner with their Alternator replacement

Had a good day working on the car yesterday.

1. Took off my front bumper.
2. Removed M-Tech air dam grill
3. Installed M3 air dam grill
4. Spray painted some mesh black
5. Cut out mesh to cover fog light holes
6. Screwed mesh onto bumper
7. Installed front bumper back on
8. Removed front headlights
9. Sealed front head lights
10. Installed front headlights back in

Took about 4 hours to do. Forgot to take a photo at the end. lols

Bought headliner material - haven't decided what color, but it was cheap so got enough to do two.

Started undoing the PO's handiwork. Seems like he knew his way around cars, but was too cheap to buy a bentley or even a haynes guide - so pretty much every clip or piece of plastic he touched has been broken and glued or screwed back in. Still trying to sort out the heater fan - intermittent - not the relay. I'm suspecting a loose connection somewhere or broken wire. Really not amused by tracing this one.
