Rack and pinion, brakes, oil change, and new spark plugs. All in all I'm happy, but the wallet is feeling a lot lighter now.... | | | 03-22-2012, 10:50 PM | #2120 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Quote: Originally Posted by BlackBMWs - Installed a rear cargo net and luggage straps. | I like the idea of that cargo net, rather than the less useful cargo straps, but I would have to somehow modify it to work with my trunk liner (which is also very useful). Hmm... | Yeah, in my 540it, I use a cargo liner with the net. Good combo, when I get past other priority items, I'll look for a cargo liner. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Thanks, John | I suppose it could also be called a Trunk liner. I'm used to referring to the back of my 540it area as the Cargo area, rather than a trunk. Here's the rubber liner I have on the floor of my Tour's Cargo area under the Cargo net. BMW PN# 82 12 9 413 180 Oddly enough, I'm not finding a BMW PN for the 318ti, but I have to believe they did make one. Here's an example of one for a 318ti(Compact) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E36-3-...item19c34daac3 Here's a different sort of Cargo Liner for way messier or sloppier dawgs... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E39-5-...item19ce39211a There's a bunch for 318ti models on the eBay.co.uk site. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! Hmm... | On my 540it, the BMW Cargo liner has pre positioned, punch out openings near the fold down seats for the Cargo net hooks to raise up through the liner to hook on to. In the rear, the net hooks are assessable next to the Cargo liner. On the ti, I wonder if the BMW trunk liner has the same feature. If not, an x-acto knife works wonders. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! My liner doesn't have the cut outs for the hooks, but that may be because hooks were not OE on the ti's- only the rubber straps, AFAIK. It's a nice way to keep the trunk carpet clean. | | | 03-23-2012, 06:54 AM | #2127 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Quote: Originally Posted by zoner P/N for the 318ti is: 82 26 9 402 851 Tischer sells them for $50. Mine is a 95, I would have thought the tiedowns for the net hooks came accross the series. The hooks that are attached to the netting are a BMW part. I believe E36 and later models all had provisions for this netting. I agree on the liner keeping the carpet clean. My Rottweillers would have destroyed the rear carpet if not for the rubber liner. Thank you for the part #! __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I was definitely thinking of something else. Although, there is no cut-out or anything marked on the liner (not that it would be hard to cut it out anyway). | | | 03-23-2012, 08:07 PM | #2129 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Quote: Originally Posted by zoner P/N for the 318ti is: 82 26 9 402 851 Tischer sells them for $50.
