Based on what I am reading that people are doing you should be able to pick up most diffs to bolt up into these cars. I haven't been under the car yet (tomorrow and thursday) and I'll make it a point to look at the diff - want to know what is on my car anyways - and I'll look at the out put flanges... See what I can see. | | | 01-06-2010, 08:51 PM | #52 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2009 Location: NYC Posts: 134 | so i am buying an e30 2.93 lsd which comes with the output shafts.. how do i bolt it up as per FATHER's methods? do i need a diff cover from the e30 or does the e30 diff cover bolt up? also, the output shafts works from the TI, as well as the E30, therefore i dont even have to remove the shafts from the axle? i can simply bolt it right up? | | | 01-31-2010, 07:39 AM | #53 | Member Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: State Collage, PA Posts: 58 | Okay, I'm seeing ALOT of confusion right now as I am confused myself, so I'ma see if I can understand this E30 Diff is Direct Bolt Ti Drive Shaft also Direct Bolt E36 Half Shaft/Output Shaft Will bolt to E30 Diff E30 Half Shaft/Output Shaft (obiously) Bolt to E30 Diff + Rear Hub = E30? OR E30 Half Shaft Direct fit to E36 Hubs?? E30 Hubs Do not Change brake/rotor/wheel assemblies (IE E36 Rear disc + Caliper fit E30 hub) Just courious... as I may consider the swap... and what years might i find a 2.XX LSD Diff? | | | 01-31-2010, 07:53 AM | #54 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by wolfnacht E30 Diff is Direct Bolt | not on a 95, you'll have to do some modification to the trunk floor underneath, later models had the clearance for the larger diff though | | | 01-31-2010, 08:31 AM | #55 | Member Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: State Collage, PA Posts: 58 | oh no... how much trunk floor modding is required? and will it be "notice able" inside and what about the E30 halfshafts to the E36 hubs? | | | 01-31-2010, 08:34 AM | #56 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | it's not too bad, you just need to hammer out one of the supports to clear a bolt on top of the case | | | 01-31-2010, 08:47 AM | #57 | Member Join Date: Dec 2009 Location: State Collage, PA Posts: 58 | Noticable after install?
