Default 1995 BMW 318TI

been looking for a round town car, and came across this. posted it in my intro thread, but decided to move it here for any and all discussion. looks like a base model, cloth interrior and whatnot, but looks at a glance to be in good shape.

interested in any and all advice. am emailing to set up an appointment to look at it.

thanks

Liam

looks like it got smacked pretty hard on the driver side rocker panel, the door doesn't line up right either, I don't think that damage would affect driveability though, just looks kinda bad

If it is just the door that is damaged, is the idea of swaping the door a reasonable one or is it more trouble than its worth? would a door from any similar vintage 3 series fit, or would it have to be a ti?

has to be from a ti, the door doesn't look damaged though, maybe a little tweaked but most of the damage looks like it's on the rocker and maybe the quarter panel

well, i basically felt like they were stringging me along. giving me half answers to questions i was asking and so forth. just didnt have a good feeling about the whole thing. plus having worked at a car dealership, i dont trust any of them.

anyway a few more popped up this weekend in my area.
i might call this guy: 1996 BMW 3-SERIES COUPE - $3800 http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...698383017.html

what all questions/info should i get on all/any of these cars when i call or email. how do you guys feel about the ti with auto trans. there are a few really nice ones around but have never owned a car with an auto and am not sure i would like it, especially if i wanted to auto cross it in the future.

for any car i buy i always ask:
why are they selling
can i take it to have it inspected
do they have records
tire age
timeing belt/chain replacement

for this specifically:
is it registered (no plates in pict)
sunroof?
clutch replacement?
LSD? (was that avaliable on a 96ti?)

...any other suggested questions.

not a big fan of automatics, that one says it's a 5-speed though, if it's an early 96 it could have an LSD, but most likely not
