Default Introducing Klauss

He was born in 1997 and was first adopted by a family in Glenn Ellyn Illinois. He was then adopted by a family in Tinley Park Illinois. He now lives in the NWI- Northwest Indiana. The fees for adoption were 1800.00. Hope I didn't over pay. He's my sons first car. He named him.

Rare and beautiful color. Rust at that location is common; looks to be an easy fix. Brake problems aside, if the car drives out well otherwise, you got a good deal. Cheers, John

This is my my first BMW and my sons first car. I can spin wrenches so the maintenance is within my grasp plus it allows me the opportunity to pass some knowledge on to my son. I was trying to get a thorough inspection of the car in but mother nature ended that. My main concern was checking out the rear brake issue. The driver side is complete and in working order. The passenger side is completely gone only the cable and a few brackets. It has the usual issues from what I've been able to gather so far. Spinning ignition, wonky window regulator, leaky valve cover. The radiator looks to be new so I'm hoping the plastic coolant connectors and such have been changed also. Any way to check the condition of the the tubes without tearing the intake and such off? The car ran great on the highway. Drove straight with a lot of pep for a four cylinder. Steering was solid brakes were fine. The only issue is when starting it for the first time it shakes quite a bit. Previous owner said needs tune up any suggestions on that?

Might want to check the engine mounts. They are easy to replace but when they are broken the engine shakes horribly.

M thanks for that tip. That's what I was thinking was the problem when the previous owner was pointing out the issues with the car to me. The car idles great and is very smooth. Throttle response is good. I'm going to try and get under there for some more inspecting. Right now he's only allowed to drive back and forth to school and to his girlfriends. Total miles a day maybe 10 till I can give it a clean bill of health. I'll be changing the trans mounts while I'm in the process of doing the engine mounts. Anyone have some input on poly mounts or just stick with factory. The end goal of the car is to do a engine and trans swap down the road. Which means if he doesnt wreck it dad gets a fun car when he moves on to another vehicle. I live vicariously through my two sons
