Car doesn't look that bad, but the bumper is about half an inch from the tire and the rear alignment seems off. Hit on the drivers side of the rear bumper, knocked that side in at least 3 inches. __________________ No more ti. | | | 01-21-2013, 02:54 AM | #2838 | Member Join Date: Aug 2012 Location: Vancouver, BC Posts: 67 | Bought those rims http://instagram.com/p/UulPXIiRAL/ just waiting for the spring/summer to install the new shocks/struts and put those ones in instead of my crappy winter steelies! | | | 01-21-2013, 03:30 AM | #2839 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Wichita Falls, Texas Posts: 1,364 | Got back last night from a same day, 760 mile round trip to Houston to pick up a set of style 32's shod in Michelin Pilot Exalto's with good tread left. The damage will likely just buff right out. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I installed Bosch Platinum +4's, and realized after buying them they get a bad rep, so I'll run these for awhile until I need to change them again. They seem to be doing just fine. | | | 02-02-2013, 11:01 PM | #2843 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Received parts for my next 97ti project. Also received another box with additional parts, pulleys, brackets, filter... stuff... I'll get it prepared on my spare M44 motor to ensure I have all the parts and pieces. More items coming next week. Thank you Mikhail! __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! I now drive a mini van due to ignorance. I tried to install a stand-alone a few weeks ago and did some major damage to the motor. Blew head gasket, blown exhaust gasket, muffler was oval and is almost perfect round due to major back-fire that blew the exhaust gasket and maybe the head gasket, Spec flywheel and starter destroyed due to major kick-back due backfire. I'm pissed I really messed up my motor with this stand-alone. I'm going to fix her up and stick with the Midnight coded DME. I walked past it in the garage... then got in my buddy's 2000 323i to go look at a car... b5 s4... stage3, k04 turboS, water/meth injection. He traded straight up. Nearly the fastest car I've ever been in and easily the fastest car I've ever driven. My CBR was only marginally faster... Pure insanity. I've never seen a car get up and move that fast in the snow. | | | 02-03-2013, 06:45 AM | #2847 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2013 Location: Australia Posts: 4 | I'll use this as an introduction post as well to save that sweet sweet bandwidth. I just bought a 1998 318ti Sport Hatch yesterday. 144,000 km's on the clock. Runs great. It has the slightest idle shake but it is over due for a service and needs a few things for road worthy so after she's all serviced and cleaned up I'm hoping to have her purring perfectly. I got a new battery put in the other night as the original was dead. Today I cleaned her inside and out, polished the dash and interior. Sprayed the wheels and cleaned the dirt and leaves out of the engine bay. I replaced the wiper blades and a blown cigarette lighter fuse. I also bought a new shifting gear knob as the original was quite worn and was held tight by tape wrapped around the shaft. Problem is with the 3 supplied rubber fasteners I can't get the new knob on as it's way too tight. I don't want to use tape again like they did, I want it secure. Any ideas? Cheers. | | | 02-03-2013, 04:34 PM | #2848 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Quote: Originally Posted by savageman I also bought a new shifting gear knob as the original was quite worn and was held tight by tape wrapped around the shaft. Pics when you get a chance! For the new knob, when you installed it, did you give is a solid press down? Depending on the knob, it may take firm force to get seated properly. Also, check to confirm the notch on the top of the shifter is aligned with the corresponding slot inside the knob. I have used a rubber mallet for some of the tougher fit ones. Just be sure you dont damage the cap on top of the knob. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org!
