While I've been looking for other problems I found something that doesn't look right with my dipstick tube. I noticed a fair bit of oil around the dipstick tube where it goes into the engine. I removed the bolt where it attaches to the DASC elbow, and found that I could push the dipstick tube down further another half inch! The problem then is that the bolt hole for the elbow doesn't meet up any more. I'm assuming the dipstick tube should go in as far as possible? Should I try and bend the mounting tab so I can bolt it up to the elbow? Would this explain why when I do an oil change, it always takes much more than the rated capacity? Sometimes 5.5 litres or more.
