Default 1998 slicktop hellrot s52 318ti

Selling my 1998 318ti.

Price: $7,500 OBO

I have had it for two years and in that time put roughly 6,000 miles on it. I was hoping to turn it into a 318ti clubsport replica, as only 200 were made, and this 318ti is a sliptop (no sunroof), hellrot, got M3 bits and I have the full milpoint (red/black) interior from a clubsport. It is a rare car!

As it happened I am getting married and may not even end up living in the U.S. in the next couple years. I was hoping to keep this 318ti for a few decades, but only managed two years. In this time I spent more than $10k to fix it up, most mechanical, and even drove it up to Washington, visited my fiance and drove back. While driving up and back cruising between 75 – 90mph I consistently got 21 ~22 mpg. Even when it is mostly city it still stays at around 20 mpg, it is very consistent.

The car drives well and pulls hard, it has a TON of potential for someone who wants to continue working on it.

Pictures will be updated with current ones this coming week. The ones posted are a few months old, but give a good idea how the car looks, there will be differences though.

Basics:
1998 318ti
273xxx miles
Clean title
All new cooling system
All new suspension
M3 engine swapped (s52b32)
All new clutch/flywheel/UUC shifter
Upgraded brakes
3.15 LSD from z3
A/C works

Cons:
Hood latch cable broke, so it has been creatively hidden in the fender well
Driver window falls of tracks, so I just keep it closed
Interior is mismatched and driver door panel is off
No radio
Tons of random imperfections. When I got it, it had $600 in fees, wasn't registered, didn't have a pink slip (I have one now) and had been beat on, so there is more work to do.

Now for those who want all the details:

Engine:
s52b32 engine, head gasket and cylinder head redone 15k ago, no lifter ticking or anything
TRM swap tune DME
stock intake with OEM ASC delete elbow, new TB coolant hoses
stock exhaust, new exhaust manifold gasket and bolts
New idler pully and belts
New power steering hoses – it doesn't leak!

Trans:
Replaced and newer Getrag 250? Whatever came in the 325is
New: clutch/ flywheel/throw out bearing/ rear main seal/ full synthetic fluid/ slave cylinder
New: guibo / center support bearing (CSB) / replaced to 325is driveshaft for proper length with medium case z3 3.15 Torsion LSD.
E46 m3 OEM trans mounts
Ireland Engineering poly diff mount bushing
Fresh fluid for both trans and diff
UUC weighted shifter / new shift bushings

Cooling:
New: radiator / water pump / thermostat / metal thermostat housing / radiator hoses / heater core hoses / overflow housing / flushed, preplaced, bled coolant

Suspension:
New: Ireland Engineering (IE) rear poly subframe bushings and OEM eccentric trailing arm bushings
New: Bilstein sport shocks, front has been converted to coilovers by IE using e30 struts in a e36 m3 housing, Eibach 400lb springs, rear misc ~550lb linear springs.
New: lower control arms (LCA), offset LCA bushings, offset shock tower mounts
New: Inner and outer tie rod ends
M3 OEM front sway bar, Z3M rear sway bar
IE adjustable front end links

Brakes:
E36 M3 front calipers/rotors/pads
Rear z3 calipers, Hawk HP+ pads
Stainless steel braided lines
Flushed and replaced fluid

Exterior:
Euro glass ZKW projector headlights
Clear corner lights
Euro tail lights
Front rep M3 bumper
Rear sport OEM bumper – not installed
///M exterior trim
Black hood / nose panel (previous was bent)

Interior:
Front and rear millpoint seats
Black center console
New climate control
Millpoint door panels (not installed)
Some black interior parts not installed

There is other stuff that I am missing. But feel free to ask any questions!

Willing to trade for e36 m3 auto sedans, or clean 328i auto sedans + cash.

Thanks!

Pictures:

A few general ones, I really need to find time to take some pics. These are a few months old and it will not include things like the ACS mirrors, the front bumper will actually be an OEM 318ti Sport bumper - but in dark blue - not the M3 rep with lip, wheels will most likely be Style 5 that were platidipped black. Otherwise it is pretty close to exactly the same.

Engine Bay (will not include ACS strut bar):

Old interior pics (Have door panels and other bits will be included, center e-brake area is now black):

Couple month old exterior pics:

I am not sure?

I bought it around September of 2019, and I bought it locally here in the Southern California area. Before that I know there was one owner who did the swap and black roof paint job, but he was also around the Southern California area, so I am not sure if at any point between that it was up in San Luis Obispo.

Sorry about the pictures! Let me post up a few old ones at least.

EDIT: pics added
