When i said a copy to buy, I don't mean a xerox... I mean an original you're not using any more... I don't seem to be getting any response from the author. Happy to buy from him, if he'll sell one. | | | 11-10-2015, 10:49 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 20 | STILL LOOKING FOR BOOK I exchanged emails with the swap book's author, and he is not currently selling any copies... SO, I AM STILL LOOKING FOR AN ORIGINAL COPY THAT YOU NO LONGER NEED AND WILL SELL TO ME... Selling the original to me does not violate any copyrights... Selling a copy would. I publish an Isetta Manual, so I know what it's like to have folks steal your material... I won't do that. BUT, if you have an original copy... I'd love to buy it from you. My swap will be the following... GOING IN TO A 1996 318ti... M52B28, m3 cams, m50 manifold, 3.6 gears, standard clutch, 5 speed from 328... Any comments? Love to hear 'em. | | | 11-10-2015, 11:23 PM | #5 | Member Join Date: Jun 2015 Location: Brooklyn Posts: 58 | Just throw it in you don't need the manual it's most important to send ecu to get flashed for everything, from what I've been told by many who have done this swap, it's plug and play as long as obd1 into obd1 obd2 into obd2 ASC will not work so don't plug it in, drive shaft is something to think about but was told combo of Ti and front half of donor car drive shafts will work though I can't confirm this. Exhaust is custom and axles use e30 or ti axles e30 is better use medium case diff hope this helps. BTW I'm doing this swap now currently except a little different from yours so not as straight forward but essentially the same. I'm putting S50b30us in my 97 and running it obd2. Update: found out the driveshaft you use depends on the tranny used mainly because of outpute flange size for example if you use a zf then use 328 drive shaft if you use getrag the Ti driveshaft works fine. I have the EWS and key matching with the DME. | | | 11-12-2015, 06:16 AM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jun 2015 Location: Brooklyn Posts: 58 | You have a m52 and your ecu thinks it's stock with all supporting emissions equipment and no mods but you say your gonna run "M52B28, m3 cams, m50 manifold" also no account for exhaust it will run but not optimal, just get proper tune it's worth it you already went through the trouble of swapping motors, also ews and many other things can be eliminated that aren't necessary Sent from my SM-T817T using Tapatalk | | | 11-12-2015, 04:51 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2015 Location: Quebec, Canada Posts: 6 | For my swap, I will have the M3 DME on M52, M3 cam, M50 intake, cold air intake and custom exhaust. Here in Quebec, anybody play on BMW DME... Here in Quebec, anybody play on BMW DME... | You should be good to go! I'm getting my DME reflashed because I'm running a S50b30us obd2 with larger high compression pistons on a m52 DME, eliminating evap, SAP, and the rear O2 sensors plus the M50 manifold and 14lb flywheel.
