Default E36 compact suspected blend door issues

Hi I have an issue where I do not get heat coming from the vents, temps are fine, not low on coolant and nothing wrong with heater core. Looking at blend door as when I turn climate control know I do not hear to much and it seems loose, the bowden cable is still attached on both ends and I can see it move the mechanical arm, does anyone know why it still not be producing heat? There is little resistance on the cable when I move it to the red side and I do not hear much noise when I turn the dial.

Pls help been desperately trying to fix the heater for a while now.
