Default 1995 Three Button Remote Fob

has anyone programed a new or used 3 button remote?
if so...what did you do?
i'm going to take it to my local BMW shop soon if i can't get the info i'm looking for.
so, please help me save some money with a little help.

i think you have to take it to the dealer to get it programmed. I could be wrong but I think that's it

yea i know when i i had my neon and i called the dealer they said i had to go there in order to reprogram it but i dont know if its the same for bmw

i want to get an alarm for my 95 and i will need to know as well! anyone know from experience?

i dno if its any help but on my e46 325i i had to sit in the car with the doors closed. then put my key in and turn it to the first position and back off and take it out in less than like 5 seconds. then hold down the unlock button while pressing the lock button 3 consecutive times. then release the unlock button and the car will unlock. prolly no help on e36 tho but oh well

if you have to go to the dealer for an econo-car like a neon, you will probably have to for a BMW

one came with it.
i bought my new one at the dealership.
i still need to get it programed tho.
nobody knows how!

i guess i should look into why my alarm light on the center console does not work.
i might have an electronics expert take a look at it.
it is going to need to be fixed.

ok i got your answer!

here is how you do it

when you open the remote, remove the small chip from remote and install it into alarm unit(open a small door on alarm) turn ignition ON, wait for a beep and/or led flash and you all set, remove chip from alarm, install it back in the remote and pow!


all done!

my key fob arrived and that chip is in there. you have to pull a clip back and the the chip tilts up and slides out.

my alarm is supposed to arrive today and i'll let you know if it works!

i also stumbled upon a full oem working heated seat retrofit kit with all the factory wiring and switches that should be here this week as well!

well i tried it and no go.

maybe i did somethign wrong but i will triple check everything again.

but no beep or flash.
