I have a green '96 ti with a touring package. I fell in love with the ti when I first saw it parked on display in my local mall back in 1995. In college at the time, it was not in my price range. When I graduated, I took one for a test drive and was hooked. Not the fastest car on the market by any means, but a real driver's car -- it's fun to see how much you can get out of it! Anyway, I'll turn the clock ahead several years to 2003 when I was driving a new (2002) GTI, but came across a nice ti on eBay. Although I wanted one with a CA roof, this one was in nice shape, only had 55k on it, and was close to home. I paid about $7000 for it and it's been my main means of transport ever since. I've had it slightly more than 2 years now, and I think it's a great car; however, I'm starting to have problems with it and could sure use some help! I've been a member of bmw-forums for about a year, but recently found this site. I'm hoping I can add some of my own knowledge (I helped craft a DIY for a keyless PB start after my lock cylinder froze), but also gain some help to get my ti back in shape again. It's painful to see it in its present state Anyway, hello, and thanks for putting together a great place to talk about ti's! | | | 05-23-2005, 06:26 PM | #2 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | Hey there,Welcome to the site. Feel free to browse the forums. More than likely, someone else has had a similar problem with their car, and we've talked about it. If not, ask away.
