A gift from my Dad for getting into VT and making eagle. Now to get it inspected in Maryland. When we test drove it, the airbag light would stay on. The seller said he would fix it, needed a sensor. The next day we go to pick it up, the air bag light is no longer on, says he fixed it for a $75 sensor, but now the odometer light is not working ! I also turned the ignition light on and all the system lights come on...except the airbag light. hmmmm... is this related? is it possible he just pulled a fuse and that they both share the same fuse? or is it possible he indeed fixed it but BOTH bulbs blew in the process? Help please? I've searched on here and can't find any relation between airbag light and odometer light or fuses for that matter. Ask for the receipt for the $75 part. The best way to check is to have the SRS codes scanned. This would be an instance I'd be willing to pay for an inspection by the dealer. Sounds kind of sketchy. If it turns out he did pull the bulb, walk away--there's no telling what else he fudged. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 05-09-2008, 05:19 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Stamford, CT <-> Boston, MA Posts: 1,393 | Beating a dead horse, Something smells fishy here.. __________________ BMWCCA #403399 2012 Mini Cooper S Clubman, 6-Speed Loaded 2001 325xi, Winter Package, 5-Speed Traded 1998 318ti, Active, Automatic, TOTAL LOSS R.I.P. 10/20/08 Bilstein Sport Shocks/Struts . If he removed the cluster, he most likely removed the bulb. At this point, you pretty much have him by the balls. He has to fix it and I'm certain that VA checks the SRS system on their state inspections. As for the odometer not working, he probably knocked something loose or left something disconnected when he removed the cluster. Don't wait on this. Go back ASAP and MAKE him fix it or take the car back. __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
