The bentley manual does not cover this. I can't fiqure out how to remove the cover. I just want to get in there and clean the streak marks that appear to be the result of condensation. | | | 12-29-2003, 06:39 PM | #2 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | I have not taken mine apart yet, but I suspect the cover pulls off to expose the good stuff. The car manual may actually show this, or call your dealer service desk to ask how. | | | 02-11-2004, 10:24 PM | #3 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: charlottesville, virginia Posts: 3 | Fyi, the cover does simply pull off. Although it sounds like you are breaking something when you do. There is a considerable amount of brittle plastic involved in the design. The manual's instructions are " remove cover, use screwdriver if nesscesary" not much help there. Also, the Bentley manual does not cover this either. The cover slides off at a parallel angle to the back windshield. Like I said it makes some painful cracking noises due to the fact there is a lot of cheap plastic in the design. | | | 03-30-2013, 01:29 AM | #4 | Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Chicago, IL USA Posts: 58 | Thanks for the info! I just pulled mine off and it does sound exactly as promised. Anyone notice the little sticker that had, what I am presuming was the install/build date of that particular part? Mine read 14-Jan-98. | | | 06-22-2013, 07:17 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Tampa Posts: 1 | One of the clips for my high mounted tail light has broken. Does anyone know where to get replacement clips? I'm hoping this is an easy fix. | | | 06-24-2013, 07:16 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | Wow and a Jurrassic thread lives. .. It should say somewhere, for example, "ABS/PC", for recycling. | | | 09-19-2020, 05:18 PM | #8 | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Westerville Ohio Posts: 51 | /clip part number Quote: Originally Posted by smmulvey One of the clips for my high mounted tail light has broken. Thank you. __________________ | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | HOW TO: Suspension Install | andyman7931 | Knowledge Base | 12 | 03-01-2012 02:52 PM | |
