(it was a direct hit for that wheel. my wheel, vs the 4 inch high curb) any tips would be great. =] im so mad at these old tires. there is 60% tread left, but bald tires would work better... they are like capital n5000 tires, and no one even sells them, the people that do want like $40 each for the tires.. =/ the cheap ass before who had my car didnt buy anything that worked well. | | | 12-18-2008, 01:50 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | damn that sucks. especially the part where the strut tower is messed up. I'm not sure if that could be considered frame damage since a "fixed" part of your suspension was bent. good luck fixing it. | | | 12-18-2008, 01:51 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | dont destory all my hopes, i just about $900 wroth of stuff yesterday.. it better be a semi-cheap fix.. haha.. i will drive with a bent strut.. =] it might be time to part this bad-boy out.. haha.. if i wasnt at school, i would upload a picture of the control arm.. but there isnt anyway to do it now | | | 12-18-2008, 02:08 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | if you plan on keeping the car it may affect the alignment. It can be fixed but it may be pricey. | | | 12-18-2008, 02:16 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | *sigh* as long as it passes inspection, and gets me from home - work - school, i wont care.. its going for inspection this Friday, they will love to know they get to fix a smashed-in wheel. haha.. i was alittle worried about the power steering, but there doesn't seem to be leakage or anything really bent.. i think i bent the bar that gives everything structure (i forget the name, it connects the 2 wheels, but it doesn't steer them and its not the arm) it looks major bent.. so hopefully its not to bad, or not to expensive. (this is all getting done by a professional... haha.. im not touching it) now, about the front bumper.. im guessing i should rip it off and forget about it for a month till i know everything is working alright.. | | | 12-18-2008, 02:22 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Richmond Hill, GA Posts: 1,231 | do you mean the rack and pinion? I'm sure finding one of those should be easy and cheap. Bumper is an easy fix IMO. | | | 12-18-2008, 02:58 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by hotmilk400 now, about the front bumper.. im guessing i should rip it off and forget about it for a month till i know everything is working alright.. | DDM has the M3 bumpers for $100, but even that might be a little pricey considering you may have a lot of repairs to do, obviously, driving with the bumper completely off won't harm anything, so if you can't patch it together that's another option | | | 12-18-2008, 03:36 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | ooo.. thats not bad, $100 .. well, with combined parts and labor for the next week, i will probally be looking at $1500 now for everything. (tires, cat, brakes, everything that i needa by, +labor) that isnt bad, i have enough to pay for it.. but what sucks is i am going to china for 2 weeks, ande i am leaving on the 20th this month.. and, i need atleast $500 for spending money.. i have... $0 for cash now.. so i needa borrow =/ i can make it back pretty quick, but its jsut that it kinda all sucks now that eveything is happening at once.. atleast it pays to have a credit card that gives me 1% rewards .. both cards are maxed out till i figure out how much money i needa borrow for china, and pay back the cards. | | | 12-18-2008, 03:38 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | that does suck, what are you going to China for? | | | 12-18-2008, 03:41 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | That China trip might be the trip of a lifetime, unless it's for business. The car can wait - spend your dough on the trip. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 12-18-2008, 03:41 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | for fun. i have a friend there, and my best friend is going with me since he wanted to go (im going with him really) not cheap.. =/ i was lucky, my friends father (the friend in china) is really rich, and paid for my ticket, but i had to pay $250 for the visa to get in the country. im studing chinese, so its not wasted money anyway. | | | 12-18-2008, 03:43 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | well, have fun, pick up a Rolek while you're down there | | | 12-19-2008, 12:37 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2007 Location: Denver, Colorado Posts: 3,212 | hotmilk i have a ddm m3 bumper that i painted but I'm not going to put it on the car.
