Default 318ti '96 base - yay/nay

so.... £375 could end up with this.......

Red 318ti from late '96

Couple of minor parking dings.

Has a whine which i think is power steering related - not had change to check resevoir / pipes yet.

Interior needs a mega valet or repalcing.

Both regulators need sorting - no rear channels though.

New parcel shelf needed.

Heaters seem to be a bit pathetic - barely noticable on highest setting.

Seems to be condensation on the inside?? Although I am sure this is from the door cards not being on and a v small gap at the top of the windows.

Could prob do with new coils/shock all round.

And you want to buy this car, why?

Am I assuming, British Pound 375.0 GBP = 611.25 USD US Dollar?

I guess it's worth it if you are willing to put time and money.
But couldn't you find something not needing as much attention?

How about a nice SE?

yeah i see your point but right at this moment i only have 450 to spend. it runs and seems to be ok on that side of things + dont mind spending the next 3/4 months getting it sorted out.

its either this or some sort of old mondeo/peugot 306/fiesta etc and the BM seems like more fun.

heater not working is related to the cooling system, that's something you'll want to get fixed before driving it, have you had a chance to drive it yet?

yeah had a drive in last night. engine runs well and pulls well through all gears.

aside from the suspension - which isnt too bad but does need replacing - and the whine its seems ok.

The heater does blow hot air and cold air according to the dial but it just seems very weak - possible motor? The engine temp gauge seems fairly static at just under halfway, does start off all the way to the left and ran the instrument diagnostic and all dials / lights work as they should.

Will check out the cooling system/heater sections on here...

Thats a pretty good price considering the problems are only minor.

I'm having trouble finding a running Compact for less than £700 so I would gladly snatch that one at that price.

I agree with Knighty, if I saw one at that price i'd take it and either put it right or frag it!

Buy it and see if you can be bothered fixing it.

If not then sell it for parts on Ebay, you will easily make your money back within a week or two with plenty of bits left over to sell which means quids in for you
