Default Any insight on michigan?

FLINT michigan to be exact...

So there's 2 colleges I applied to. University of Mich. and Kettering University. (still awaiting on U-of-M...most likely will get rejected...) and kettering. Kettering University is located in Flint michigan.. and from what i've heard, it's not the best place on earth...

Just wondering if anyone knows a thing or two about how flint, michigan is? Is it really as bad as they say it is?

Might want to post something at
http://www.city-data.com/forum/michigan/

The last time I was there, which was probably +25 years ago, it was pretty depressed.
The auto industry really took it's toll on the area.
Maybe things have changed?

Flint is not that worse place ever but not the nicest. Like a lot of areas in Michigan once the automobile industries left it hit home hard. From Flint its about an hour away from Detroit. I was born in Detroit but lived in Roseville and Lansing before moving to Florida.

The school you are talking about used to be GMI (general motors institute). All depends on what you are looking for really. I was last in that area this Sept 2010 when I was on my way to Oscoda.

All depends on what you are looking to do. Just finishing school you will have no problems. Looking for a big party town then you might be let down. Most of the time we would just hit Detroit or Windsor to really party.
