Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Denver, CO Posts: 3,925 | Feeler: Possible Group Buy: Technique Tuning Stage 3 software for DASC I'd like to see how much interest there is before going to NickG. Stage3: Stage3 ups the ante further than Stage2 by replacing the stock mass air meter with a larger unit and an ITG air filter. The larger meter uncorks the system and allows freer breathing. A power gain of 7.5ft-lbs and 17.5hp at the rear wheels vs. stock programming has been seen. Again, the DME has been custom programmed to work with the larger injectors and larger mass air meter. If you are looking for ultimate power from your system then this is the kit for you. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 12-15-2005, 05:19 PM | #2 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | any idea what the single unit cost is? even though i don't yet have a DASC, i'd be interested (probably around next spring). __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 12-21-2005, 11:03 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2004 Location: Tennessee Posts: 523 | Yeah Id be interested too, but more around spring or early summer when I buy the DASC. It seems worth it to me. Now that I can see my AFR all the time, I really want it. I'm just trying to get a list of people that *might* be interested. I don't know if NickG would even do a group buy. I want to know how many people are interested before I ask. I was on the site last week and i noticed there was no price for stage 3 just on 2. I was just trying to throw out a price ranger for people. But if there is a group buy then the price would be a little cheaper. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 12-22-2005, 01:04 AM | #9 | doesn't care about you. For instance, I already had a 3" HFM (stock unit off of my '95 M3), so I saved some cash by buying the kit without the HFM included. It sure was nice being able to yank the RRFPR, the related plumbing, the injector air bypass junk and the DISA valve. Plus the car runs way smoother, especially at part throttle. I'm running a wideband o2 and sometimes it gets pretty lean up top. __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 12-22-2005, 04:20 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Hilliard, Ohio Posts: 122 | Quote: Originally Posted by DustenT Chris - Do you have the AFR curve to match that dyno? | Nah, I didn't opt for that. If it were running hot, I'd expect it to heat soak badly and it did three pulls in a row within 1hp of that run. The bigger injectors and better tuning should keep the mixture from going lean. I will say, stay away from Exxon/Mobil gas, it'll ping like crazy running that junk. It runs fine with Sunoco, BP and Shell though. It was running Sunoco 93 that day. After I do a 108k mile tune up (needs a valve cover gasket and some fancy plug wires) in a month or two, maybe I'll fill it up with Sunoco 94 and redyno with an A/F check just to be sure. | | | 12-22-2005, 04:35 PM | #14 | doesn't care about you. The stage 3 from NickG will be my next purchase. Do you know if it's possible for him to rewrite other stuff in the ECU? I'd like the ECU to think it's a manual. I did a tranny swap and I get a CEL with no codes because of the missing tranny. So you run 10psi with no other additions? I'm running water/alcohol at 4psi, I wonder how Lisa's car would perform with water injection to help cool it. That would make for a good dyno run! __________________ '99 Dinan M3 | | | 12-22-2005, 04:37 PM | #15 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | wasn't someone working on an intercooler for the DASC? whatever happened to that? __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
