Here are some pictures that I thought were pretty interesting. What's it like? Also how did you identify Eagle as a good parts supplier? I go to the Canton Export Fair every year and look at vendors for home goods (steel, wood, glass, etc.) and it's hard as heck to find that good supplier. Just curious, doesn't seem like too many people on this forum venture to China or anywhere out if the US (L8, J!m and you not withstanding). __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 04-05-2007, 05:11 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | That's a funny coincidence. I was in Taipei 2 years ago for business. I attended a consumer electronics show in the same convention center. I even took pictures of BMW's I saw as well. Make sure and go to the top, to get an amazing view. First, I checked out their official trade page on Alibaba. Then I corresponded via email probably 35 times before I paid. They assured me that the warranty would cover the damage and that they would ship first. One member of the GB got a defective HID bulb with his shipment. I emailed them and a new one came in the mail. I've been to Asia probably 5 times so far (though I'm only 18). This trip's main purpose was to go visit Osaka, Japan and then stop by Taipei to visit family. Make sure and go to the top, to get an amazing view. | An even more amazing view is from the top of Taipei 101 (built after you went there). There are SO MANY BMW'S around that area of Taipei. Next to my grandma's apartment where I am staying (in Southern Taipei), the nicest car I've seen is an Audi S4. Near the Sheraton Taipei (where I stayed for a night), there was a Bentley Continental Flying Spur in the front parked next to several S65 AMGs. In the Xinyi district (where the Taipei Exhibition centers/Taipei 101 are), I saw hundreds of BMWs. Many many 750Lis and a couple of 130is. The rest were 5 series and 3 series. I only saw 1 M3, 1 M5, and 1 Mazda 3 with M3 emblems all over. No 318tis . I also saw one M3 tuned by JHY Ruff. This reminds me... JHY Ruff you guys might have heard of before. They're releasing an underdrive pulley kit for the M42 and M44 within the next few months. They offered me the opportunity to be their US Distributer... hahaha... (anyone want to help me out with that?) Also, they offered to design me a turbo kit for the M42 and M44 (I told them about the odd placement of the manifolds but they insisted) if I sent them design parameters. Is anyone interested in helping to design a kit for this? They said 20 kits would make it feasible and they would test out a prototype on the 15 M42/M44 cars they have. They have over 100 BMWs in their test center. They were a big tuner for 2002s according to my dad when I called him after. I'll take some pictures of their brochure later. http://www.jhy.com.tw/ They currently make a low pressure turbo for the 6 cyls. http://www.jhy.com.tw/product_view.a...o=200703280002 I held their turbo in my hands as well as their underdrive pulleys. They pulleys are made out of high-stress aluminum (T6061 maybe?). Very good quality. If anyone is interested in trying to get something together where we buy 20 Turbo kits (pending a test kit going to someone), let me know. I have the general manager's contact info. I thought you meant the top floor of Convention Center 1 (Which is like 15 stories high). Did you go to Floor 91 (outside one)? They closed it due to wind when I went up. | | | 04-06-2007, 01:33 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Manassas, VA Posts: 4,129 | I went to the indoor observation deck. They sell souvenirs on that floor. Fastest elevator in the world. Goes up 90+ floors in less than 30 seconds.
