I've got a cheap set of pioneers. Do NOT go to a store and get some, but order off ebay or the like.. and the underpowering speakers is BS. that's only true in the case of HIGH power subs, where they're so stiff they won't move. Posting quick because i've gotta eat dinner, but PM me if you've got quiestions. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. H&R race springs F+R. I recomend Phoenix Gold RSD components. Great for the price __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. H&R race springs F+R. I did that and they sound worthless, no bass. The factory amp doesn't send the bass amperage (sp?) to those speakers, so the 6x9's are a waste. I am still searching for a better option. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. You could try wiring 6x9's directly to the head unit's rear speaker outputs. That could help. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I suppose another option would be to just have the 6x9s powered by their own amp too | | | 06-28-2009, 04:48 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | Brendan; I agree, it's tough to know what to do. I really feel that to do it right, someone would have to re-wire all 10 speakers to an amp and to the head unit... Sorry to not have anything real positive to add... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I would never try to create a 10 speaker audio in ANY car without just using stock stuff and replacing speakers, it's way too difficult to make it sound any good. So, my suggestion for you. If using the stock amp, do not go with a speaker any larger, it won't sound better. The stock amp sends only the higher frequencies to the speaker, since it's only a 4" and can't produce the bass/lower frequencies. Wiring to the rear channel of the HU is not difficult, but also not worth the time for you IMO. I'd say just pick up a set of decent replacement speakers for the rear and drop them in. Unless you REALLY are not happy with the stereo setup now, I wouldn't mess with a different amp/larger rear speakers/etc. just my .02, i've been there before. My TI is completely rewired with all new speakers, and it's more time consuming to run the wires and stuff than people realize. If the stock had worked I'd have stayed with that, but it was shot, so an overhaul it got __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes.
