Default New Wheels, Wax, Pics

Woke up today and said to myself, "My car sure would look nice with a set of Style 42's." My car is a 97 318ti Sport. The wheels are 17"X8" et20 style 42's from an e39. The tires are 215/40/17's, Michelin Pilot Sports up front and Toyo Proxes on the rear. After spending about a month refinishing the wheels, (sandblasting, polishing and painting) I finally mounted and balanced the tires last night. This morning I mounted the wheels on the "Tizz Eye" and cleaned her up a bit. The rears rub a little, so tomorrow I'm going to roll the fenders. I took a few pics, though they're not that great. Anyway, let me know what you guys think:

Yeah, I'm lookin for a good deal on a set of the OEM euro tails. I also plan on blacking out the kidney grilles and buying a front lip pretty soon. You can't really tell from the pics, but I made a custom black honeycomb aluminum mesh lower grille. It looks better than the plastic M3 mesh.

Thanks for the compliments guys! The car needs a paintjob. I bought it on eBAY from a guy in Michigan, so there's a little rust. Small spots below each taillight and on the bottom of both rear fenders. The paint already started to chip there, so I'm not too concerned about messing it up a little more. We'll sort everything out when I get it painted. Thinking about a Charcoal Metallic or Alaska Blue finish.

Nice looking car. The wheels look very good.

I recommend clear lenses as well... and Avus blue looks good...

It's funny you should mention that. Two weeks before I bought this car, I bought an Avus Blue one! It was a 97 also, but it wasn't a Sport model, so I sold it after only having it for a week. It had a set of M Contours on it which were pretty nice, but I wanted the M Tech body, Sunroof and Cruise Control. I found this black one on eBAY and flew to Michigan to get it. My Avus 318ti sold 2 hours after I parked it on Main St. with $4000 written on the windshied.

Looks good on the ti! Clear tails and tip on tail pipe will make the rear end even better. Any front closeup pics of the mesh grill?

Looks great, shinier than new!

I cleaned mine at the weekend, full on claybar, 3 stage wax. Its a shame when you go for one drive and its mucky again; damn winter!
