I dunno, I was looking on Ebay for HID kits and came across this, still a little too much for my taste and I dont exactly need 8,000K, im fine with 6,000K. What do you think, asking to much or is this a relatively good deal. I was going to wait to go through Umnitza and get the whole HID, Euro Ellipsoid Headlight with Angels deal. Just curious on everyones opinion, im in love with Xenon lights, when I see people on the road and I see that sparkle of baby blue and bright white I get all excited. They will be my first mod one day. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT Help is much appreciated, thanks guys! __________________ my new world | | | 01-09-2006, 06:56 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | HID's from umnitza are only 270 anyways with lifetime warranty i'd get the lot through them. i just got the depo epsiloids with predator chronium. HID's are awesome. it's by far the best appearence mod i've done. i love pulling up behind another car and seeing my headlight reflection on there trunks. its funny when your driving and your lights are giving the car in front of you better lighting than his own. in the words of Brick..."i love lamp....I LOVE LAMP" __________________ | | | 01-12-2006, 05:11 PM | #5 | Moderator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Bouncing off the rev limiter in CT! Posts: 3,156 | I like the idea, but I'm following a strict theme with my car in that all my mods and up-grade parts (with the exception of wear parts) are factory BMW parts that were available in 1998 or prior. Does anyone know for certain if ANY E36 BMW had/offered the HID lighting as an option? I also don't like the idea of cutting into a harness to install them either. They should have a connector that plugs in in place of the original bulb rather than splicing into the harness down stream of the connector. What if I want to go back to Halogen?? (crazy idea I know, but just the type of thing that runs through my head). Anyone know for sure? I don't think is was offered until the E46 model was released, and only as an option (which is fine). | | | 01-12-2006, 05:19 PM | #6 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I personally wouldn't buy hids from ebay, you never know what you are going to get and plus there is no warranty. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 01-13-2006, 12:41 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: England, UK Posts: 1,288 | Quote: Originally Posted by davep-uk stormos, where did you get yours from over here? | i ordered mine from umnitza. got the depo's with predator chronium. i still need to buy HID but flat broke for now. speak to Habie on bimmerforums, he'll sort you out __________________ 1995 BMW 316i Cosmos Black Mods: • Magnex Cat-Back Exhaust • Smoked Corner Lights + Repeators • M3 17" Wheels • De-Baffled Air Box • AC HandBrake Handle and Gear Knob • DEPO Euro Epsiloids + Predator Chronium Rings • Chrome Interior bits •IE Poly-Urethane RSFMs • Kenwood Power Series Audio • Powder Coated e36 325 Front Callipers • Sports Seats | | | 01-13-2006, 05:47 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Tampa, FL Posts: 677 | Quote: Originally Posted by J!m I also don't like the idea of cutting into a harness to install them either. Anything I get has to be PNP or else im not getting them for that reason in case something goes wrong of if I do go back to halogen...but that would be doubtful if I do __________________ my new world | | | 01-15-2006, 10:48 PM | #9 | Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Barnstaple North Devon Posts: 92 | You should check out this company: http://www.xenonking.com/6000.htm I had the mcculloch kit in my 320 and it was brilliant, it even survived the trip over from usa. I was very impressed and if it wasnt for the fact that kits are down to 225 quid over here, i would definitely buy them again. Over here i have found: http://www.hids4u.co.uk/product_details.asp?id=45 or http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/home.php?cat=277 All ineed to do is find a ti to put them in! As for e36 with xenons, i am pretty sure that it never was a factory option. I havent seen any e36's over here with factory kits. I wouldnt worry about the kits being non removable. The Mc culloch requred a crimp on each of the plus and minus wires to each dipped beam feed. If you wanted to remove the kit, all you would need is the opposite crimp on the wiring you removed and away you go. The uk e36 saloon has/d h1 type lamps with spade connectors on, so it was not a worry for me. (i am a sparky by trade, so am no stranger to cables) Hope this helps. I think I'll try those Silver Star bulbs. But I want them for the fog lights too. The color has to match or it looks weird... | | | 01-16-2006, 02:22 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by J!m I think I'll try those Silver Star bulbs.. | I have the Osram Silver Stars. White fogs suck. They blind oncoming traffic and they don't help your visibility. BTW the best I did on 3 sets of silverstar bulbs is about 6 months.
