Default Coolant plastic piece just broke

Stuck on the side of I-287 North coming home for spring break-- thank God for my iPhone.

Part #1 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...58&hg=11&fg=10 broke. I need to remove the DASC it seems. Never done it before-- any advice? Getting the car towed home and will try to do it tomorrow. Please, if you've done this yourself before, give me some pointers. It looks like the DASC bolts up to the head with 4 or 5 bolts on the IM + the bracket has 2 hex bolts. Then disconnect from intake. Do I have to remove the belt from the SC first? How do I even do that? Remove the AC belt then that serpentine?

You're on the right track. Off the top of my head, remove AC belt, 10mm allen and ~15mm socket. Use a 15 or 16mm socket to turn the other belt tensioner to slacken the belt and take it off. Remove rubber intake elbow from throttle body. Take off end of throttle cable. Unplug vacuum lines from charger, fuel pressure regulator etc. Take out 2 bolts on fuel rail, pull it out with all 4 injectors hanging from it, and lay it towards the back of the engine bay. 5 nuts on intake manifold, 2 bolts on front bracket, one on lower bracket that goes straight down from the blower to the engine mount. Lift the whole assembly out as one.
That should be most of it.

Thanks a lot. Sounds like I should be able to tackle it in a few hours tomorrow. Hopefully I won't need a new intake gasket. I actually might have a spare. I'll clean up the injectors and engine intake ports while I'm at it too I suppose. Could use another O2 sensor which I have a spare of also. Looks like tomorrow's gonna be a ti day. New 235/40R18 Bridgestone Potenza RE01-R tires are ready to wrap the MM11-3's too.

Ahh it feels good. What a wonderful start to spring break! Too bad it took 4 hours to get towed home .

Marko gave me a call and helped me out. I couldn't figure out how to detach the blower from the lower support bracket. I eventually snuck a 13mm wrench behind it and got the nut that was freely rotating. I swapped the nut and bolt so it will be much easier to remove next time.
