Default Newbie looking to increase acceleration

First post here so I hope some of you might be able to help me out. I just bought a 1996 318ti and I'm pretty pleased with it. The handling is great and once it get going it seems like a pretty quick car. The only thing I'm a little disappointed with is the acceleration. I understand its just a 4 cylinder I also understand that I know absolutely nothing about performance (I'm really interested in learning now that I've got a respectible car though) but I'm sure there's a way to get a little more pop out of the car. Also I'm not doing this to street race or some other stupid bs, I just think it would make driving a little more enjoyable.
I understand if no one wants to go through all the options but if you could throw a few products out or just post what has worked on your car I'd really appreciate it. Thanks for looking.

Final gear ratios is one way to gain acceleration.

Search engine on this forum is wonderful......

You'll find these are not hondas, there isn't all the bolt-on stuff.
Other than the DASC and a couple turbo kits (All over $3K)
Your options are limited.

Now before you ask....
DO a search on this forum for:
Fogged Air box (Best CAI known.)
Limited slip diff swap
to start.....

Welcome BTW

Dave
