Default 97 Alaska Blue Sport

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chris, and I bought a '97 318ti Sport with a blown motor a couple months ago for $1500 with the plan to put an S52 in it. A couple weeks ago I found a t-boned M3 which I picked up for just under $3000. I've owned three e30's (and still own one) and I'm looking forward to getting this car up and running.

Sweet dude, I'm doing the same thing. Picked up a wrecked M3 coupe for 3 grand, I'm rebuilding/blinging the motor right now getting ready to drop it into my Ti. How many miles were on your M3? Mine had 120k. Well best of luck on your project, keep us posted on your progress. If you need any help or parts, hit me up! Here's my build thread:

Nice. I too have an Alaska Blue Ti. Hope to see you around once the group of us starts hanging out again from time to time.

Congrats on the 318ti and the M3 project. It's going to be a fun ride once you have the M3 engine swapped.

Welcome!

One of the board members, j!m, has a 'M3 -> ti Swap book' for sale that may be of some interest to you.

My copy of J!M's manual got here on Christmas Eve. I had removed the engine, transmission and front suspension from the ti before it got here, but there is still some useful stuff in there that I'll be using.

Also, the ti has about 130k on it, and the M3 has 127k. The last owner had a new head put on it at Mountain View BMW at around 110k. The DME also has Dinan's D900-32M loaded on it. I have paperwork for most of the work he had done on the car.
